Dapat bang ipagdiwang ang kapaskuhan?

Many Christians consider that Christmas should not be celebrated, because of doctrinal reasons or what... and here are some of them... see below:

The World Book Encyclopedia defines "Christmas" as follows: "The word Christmas comes from "Cristes Maesse", an early English phrase that means "Mass of Christ." (1) It is interesting to note that the word "Mass", as used by the Roman Catholics, has traditionally been rejected by the so-called Protestants, such as Lutherans, Baptists, Methodists, Presbyterians, Pentecostals and so on. The word "Mass" is strictly a Catholic word and thus, so is "Christ-Mass."

As previously stated, the word "Mass" in religious usage means a "death sacrifice." The impact of this fact is horrifying and shocking; for when the millions of people are saying, "Merry Christmas", they are literally saying "Merry death of Christ!"

Well, did I read that "Mass of Christ" is equally the "Death of Christ"... so I think the root word of MASSACRE is MASS...???... Having thought of that, Ah I'm a genius! hahahaha...

If many of you thinks that celebrating Christmas is an "irregularity" which many Christians err to do every year during December... Isn't our Lord was branded as "Friend of Sinners" because he sits and ate and drink in the table with Zacchaeus and even publican friends of Matthew? Does make it inconvenient with Pharasites, sorry rather, with the Pharisees and Scribes? Well does it make you feel inconvenient for us who celebrate the truth that once long time ago Christ was born... I will celebrate His nativity for it has a place in HISTORY!

It's my personal conviction because I love my Lord so much that I would like to treasure everything pertaining to Him and make it rich in my mind and soul... besides, how I tell others about his birth was for ME! He came for me... because our relationship is too personal... Why should other people prohibit me nor tell me I'm wrong to commemorate the birth of my Beloved? Well many says, "love is crazy"... you'll do everything for the person you loved even the whole world says you're stupid or crazy... I would rather be identified "Friend of Pagans" so that my pagan friends may know the truth the reason why He was born... so that He may die for them...

Having said that, liberty or personal conviction is our only escape but remember in 1 Cor.10:23 Paul said... "All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not."..... hahahaha.... kasi nga hindi naman lagi na lang natin reason ang "because was not prohibited nor commanded... ay pwede na!" hahahaha... that's why I based my reasoning in MOTIVE....which is LOVE...greater than faith and hope ;)

Am I being sentimental???,,, What do you call a person who died and gave his life for his friends? Sentimental? EMO? Matyr? or crazy? If Christmas means, the death of Christ... So be it, I will celebrate also His death, for His death brought life in me... and I will also celebrate His resurrection for it brought power in my Salvation He gave me... I WILL CELEBRATE CHRIST AND EVERYTHING IN HIM WITH MY LIFE...

Since I have the luxury to do it then I will do it, why not?... Merry Christ-Birth to all... jon sosito

SO, MERRY CHRISTBIRTH TO ALL! Ang lungkot talaga nang malayo sa family. buti na lang merong joy pag kasama ang mga kapatid kay Kristo.
Anyway, Let me say it in Tagalog:
MALIGAYANG PASKO SA I NYONG LAHAT!
Kahit walang regalo, Smile na lang:) and pinag- pray ko po kayong lahat na MBBCians to be guided by God's word and to know His promises, but not only to know but to stand on those promises.
